GETTING STARTED
How Padel is Life fits together
What is the difference between a club, a competition and a team?
A club is the shared home for a venue, club or padel community and can bring several competitions together. A competition is the league, ladder, Box league or Americano you enter. A team is the pair of players competing inside a team competition. Competitions can belong to a club or run independently as standalone competitions.
What can I do with a normal player account?
Players can join clubs and competitions, join or create teams where the competition allows it, respond to challenges, submit results and confirm scores. A normal account can also create a limited standalone competition. Club access and larger or multiple active competitions use Creator access.
Where should I start after signing in?
The Dashboard is your main starting point. It shows your clubs, current competitions and teams, plus anything that needs your attention such as an incoming challenge or a result waiting for confirmation.
Where can I see all of my teams?
Open My Teams from the main navigation. It brings together every active team you belong to and shows the competition each team is playing in.
CLUBS
Clubs, communities & competitions
What does joining a club do?
Joining a club makes you a member of that club or community in Padel is Life. It does not automatically enter you into every competition. From the club page, choose the competitions you actually want to join.
How do I join a club?
A club can be joined using its join code or its secure direct invite link. The secure link takes you straight into the joining journey without asking you to type the code. If you need to create an account first, the app keeps the invite destination so you can continue after confirming your email.
Do club members still need a competition join code?
Not always. An organiser can allow club members to join a competition directly from the club page while registration is open. If that option is not enabled, use the competition join code or secure competition join link instead.
Why can I see a club but not join one of its competitions?
Club membership and competition membership are separate. The competition may not have opened registration yet, registration may have closed, or direct access for club members may be disabled. Open the competition details to check its current status.
COMPETITIONS
Registration & lifecycle
What do Upcoming, Registrations open, Active and Completed mean?
Competition status is automatic. Upcoming means registration has not opened yet. Registrations open means teams can join but matches and challenges have not started. Active begins on the competition start date. Completed begins after the end date. Organisers do not need to move the competition between these stages manually.
Can teams challenge each other while registration is open?
No. Challenges are available only while a competition is Active. This keeps the registration period focused on getting teams entered before competitive play begins.
Can a team join after the competition has started?
Only if the organiser enabled late registration. When late registration is enabled, new teams can still join while the competition is Active. Otherwise registration closes when the competition starts.
What is the difference between a join code and a direct join link?
A join code is the short code a player can enter manually. A secure direct join link can be shared by the organiser and bypasses the need to type that code. Official team invitation links also bypass the competition join code.
What competition formats are supported?
Traditional ladder ranks teams by ladder position and limits how far a team can challenge upward. Competitive ladder ranks teams using a strength rating that changes after confirmed results. Box league uses divisions, league-table points and tiebreaks, with optional seasons and promotion or relegation between divisions. Americano runs rotating individual-player matches and can be standalone or connected to a club.
MATCHES
Challenges & results
Why can’t I challenge a particular team?
Challenge eligibility depends on the competition format, its current status and its rules. Traditional ladders can restrict how many places away you can challenge. Box leagues restrict challenges to teams in the same division and normally allow one match against each opponent per season. Challenges are unavailable until the competition is Active.
How long does a challenge stay open?
Each competition has its own challenge expiry setting. It can also have a rechallenge waiting period that prevents the same teams immediately challenging one another again. The rules shown on the competition are the ones that apply.
Why is a result waiting for confirmation?
A submitted result must be checked by the opposing team before it becomes final. If a result is waiting for you, it appears in the Action Centre on your Dashboard.
What if the submitted score is wrong?
Do not confirm an incorrect score. Use the dispute option where available, or contact the competition organiser. Organisers can review pending and disputed results from the Results area in competition management.
STANDINGS
Ratings, ladders & Box leagues
How does the Competitive ladder rating work?
Every team has a strength rating. It goes up after wins and down after losses. The size of the change depends on the relative ratings, so beating a stronger team normally moves your rating more than beating a lower-rated team.
Why did our rating move by a different amount from another match?
The rating system considers the strength of both teams before the match. An unexpected result has a larger effect, while a result that was already more likely has a smaller effect.
Does a submitted result change standings straight away?
No. Ratings, ladder positions and Box league tables are updated from confirmed results. A result that is still waiting for confirmation or is disputed is not treated as final.
How are Box leagues ranked?
Box leagues use competition points for wins and losses, with sets and games available as tiebreaks. If seasons are enabled, teams can be moved between divisions at rollover according to the organiser’s promotion and relegation settings.
FOR ORGANISERS
Club & competition management
How do I create a club or competition?
You can create a limited standalone competition with a normal account. If you need a club, larger competitions or multiple active competitions, request club access from the Create Club screen. Once enabled, you can create a club and place multiple competitions underneath it.
Should I create a club or a standalone competition?
Use a club when several competitions belong to the same venue, club or community, for example Men’s, Women’s and Mixed competitions. Use a standalone competition when it does not need that shared club structure. A standalone competition you own can be attached to a club later without changing its teams, results or settings.
Where do I manage a competition?
Open the competition and choose Manage. The management workspace is split into Overview, Teams, Results, Members, Branding, Settings and Access so the main administration jobs are kept separate.
What can competition admins do?
Competition admins can help manage that specific competition without receiving platform-wide access. Depending on their permissions they can manage teams and members, invitations, results and competition settings. The owner remains responsible for owner-level access controls.
Can an organiser create a team and invite the players?
Yes. From competition management, an organiser can create a team without joining it, assign or invite its captain and optionally invite the other player. Team captains can also invite players directly from their team page.
How do club join links and codes work for organisers?
Club owners and admins can view the club join code and copy a secure club invite link from the club page. The code can be changed later. The secure link is normally the easiest option to share because players do not need to type the code.
How do Box league seasons and rollover work?
Box leagues can optionally use seasons. At rollover, the organiser closes the current season, reviews the proposed next-season divisions and returning-team responses, then launches the next season when the structure is ready.
ACCOUNT & INVITES
Login and troubleshooting
A team invitation says I am using the wrong account. What should I do?
Team invitations are tied to the email address the captain or organiser invited. Sign in or create an account using that same email address, then reopen the invite. This prevents an invitation intended for one person being accepted by a different account.
I received an invite link but I do not have an account yet. Will I lose the invite?
No. Invite and join journeys carry the intended destination through login or signup. After creating your account and confirming your email, you should be returned to the invitation or joining journey rather than having to start again.
I forgot my password. How do I get back in?
Choose Forgot password? on the login screen. A reset link will be sent to the email address on your account. Check your junk folder if it does not arrive straight away.
I cannot see a club, competition or team I expected to see.
First check that you are signed in with the same account that received or accepted the invitation. Also remember that joining a club does not automatically join all of its competitions. If something is still missing, contact support and include the club, competition or team name.
What should I send when reporting a problem?
Tell us what you were trying to do, what happened instead, and which club, competition, team or match was involved. A screenshot and the page URL are very helpful. Never send your password, password-reset link or one-time security code.
